Post Ankara Bar and Restaurants
1. Quick China on Ugur Mumcu Caddesi in G.O.P is a nice minimalistically designed chinese/japanese restaraunt. They have a wonderful open buffet on Sundays from 14:30- 16:00

2. CafeMiz cafe/restaraunt on Arjentine Caddesi in G.O.P is a bubbling cafe/restaurant food is great the only downside is that they dont serve alcohol

3. Mezzaluna has 2 restaraunts one on Arjentine Caddesi and one in Bilkent Ankuva Centre. Very nice Italian restaraunt they're ceasers salad is especially good

4.Q'ba bar/restaraunt in G.O.P good food live latin music

5. Hayyami wine house in Tunali Hilmi nice place but does tend to get overcrowded during the weekends and not many places to sit and I do hate standing

6. MayDay Club in Bilkent right next to Sports International. Its actually a healthclub but at night becomes a club out near the pool on beautifully decked floors. Alot of concerts are also given there

7. Salata its a cafe/bar/club and has 2 branches one in G.O.P and one in Mesa koru sitesi the one in Mesa is alot better since they have a beautifal terrace

8. The Club 20 a club on Konya Yolu, alot of international and national DJ's play sets.

9. Club Faces a club in Balgat also hosts a number of DJ's very popular place

10. The North Shield a pub on Guvenlik Caddesi in Asagi Ayranci

11. Friends&Trends Filistin Caddesi in G.O.P very posh restaraunt/club you can't get in without a reservation and sometimes you just can't get in

12. Manhattan Rock bar in Farabi Cinnah live music. Quite a decent place if you're up for listening to rock music I prefer it to the lousy flea ridden places in kizilay

and ofcouse the one the only

13. Laila Club its right behind eskisehir yolu. fabulous place. It has 3 restaraunts but if you just want to dance or chill out you can do that too. Good food great music, live concerts Very posh place a definate must go to place .

and many other places I'll write down some other time

Borsa pub/bar the branch in Tunali Hilmi is nice. They have a funny system going on, borsa means stock exchange and they actually have a one where alcohol prices fluctuate from time to time. Its funny when the beer price comes down and you see everyone rushing to the bar

Random pub right near kuglu park in Tunali just after kitir . nice appetisers though dont try the calamari (rubber take my word for it). has an open terrace. Down side the seating is kind of dinerish so only 4 to a table or 6 squeezing it. Not pricey just right plus they gave me free coffee dont know if they do that for all their customers

Are there any Mexican restaurants worth checking out in Ankara? I'll be there this week and seem to remember going to one the last time I was there (years ago).

Tilye, in Gaziosmanpasa just off Filistin Cad., is an excellent option for a pricy but high-quality meze and fish experience. Was there last night. Their aubergine puree was awesome and the service is smooth. expensive though.

I once had a nice Steak in a restaurant up in Ulus, it was like a Swiss alps house. Anybody know of it?
