Our "beloved" mayor I. Melih Gokcek announced the water cut program, starting from tomorrow midnight on. It's a 2 days on, 2 days off schedule. Gokcek said it would last a maximum of 5 months; but some reckon it would last until March. So, beware!

Water cut on 1st-2nd August on these districts -starting from the first hour of 1st August-

Kardelen, Kent-Kop, Uğur Mumcu ve Batı Sitesi

Ouch ! It's interesting how pipelines can be built across the country carrying oil or gas but can they move water around to where it's needed ??

Maybe now people might start to appreciate the importance of washing yourself , your clothes etc compared to filling up your SUV.

Similar situation to Gloucestershire UK at the moment (no water for a fortnight albeit due to severe flooding)

I'm only speculating here, but surely the municipality must have known for months that this crises was coming. Some of the newspapers have even indicated so. Why didn't they start the water cuts MONTHS ago, when we could've had just one day off per week, for example? The only thing I saw were some expensive-looking public servic announcements on TV, encouraging residents to be more mindful of how much water they use...
