I can't remember the name of the restaurant (it was a number of years ago) but a group of us (foreigners and one Turk) were strolling along the waterfront in Alanya and being hassled out by the restaurant touts offering us the best fish etc. The tout noticed our Turkish mate and said he would give him 30 percent commission if he could convince us to eat there. At the end of the meal there were no mark-ups on the bill and we paid up. We then went off to a bar nearby where our Turkish mate put the 30 percent commission on the bar and we all drank it away. In other words, a good way to get 30 percent off a restaurant bill.
