Post Mersin Anyone?
I have been here for nearly a year in Mersin, and apart from the odd expat moving through, have not met any expats residing in this area! Is it because I use the Hilton for a drink, thinking that this will be a hub of activity? I have also used some of the other bars and restaurants along the seafront, and occassionally, have met holiday makers. That in itself is strange, as Mersin is not really a holiday town, unless you are visiting relatives.

If anyone is out there, and fancies communicating, pleas let me know!

Your timing is terrible Richard. Just out this blog from an Aussie mate of mine in Mersin... He leaves the city in a week having lived there for a few years.

Richard,

Good luck finding expats in Mersin. You're right. Few and far between. You may already have experienced some of the places I've found most frequented by expats. Of course in Adana around Incirlik Air Force Base and during the summer months Kiz Kalesi is a good tourist market. However, as for those already settled in the Mersin area, I'm not sure if I've ever come across any. My wife's family along with some of my mother's family still live in Mersin and we try to go back every summer to visit the relatives.

I'm curious as to how you found yourself in Mersin? Not a haven for expats. I wish you luck and if there's anything I can help, aside from producing more expats, don't hesitate.
