 best pizza in town
Just came back from lunch at Family Pizza Pie Place in Sultanahmet, co-owned by EiT's own Verjen. I'm ready to move in. It was the best BBQ chicken pizza I have ever had. (Being a Texan, I'm a bit of a bbq sauce snob, but their's is outstanding) Good selection of pizzas, with more being added to the menu.

For good Italian-style pizza, my husband swears by Pizzeria Pidos near the Chinese restaurant next to the Taksim-Besiktas Dolmus stop. And they have pork products too!

Must try it out. I tend to eat in Miss Pizza/Cihangir. Anything with a ham product on!

Kay's in Cihangir is my favourite place for Pizza.
Especially "piggy," which I believe is a reference to me.

Virginia's place has thin crust. I don't partake of pig parts, so didn't notice if there are any offered on the menu

 Da Mario's Pizza
We live pretty close to Da Mario's in Etiler (Nispetiey Caddessi Dilhayat Sokak No. 7- 263 7484), and we were thrilled to discover they deliver. It may be pricier than some of the more commercial options (Dominos, Pizza Hut), but it's soooo yummy! They do excellent thin crust pizzas with real Mozzarella- and great mushrooms (we usually order the Funghi, which is 15 ytl). They offer Prosciutto and Pepperoni options- but you really pay for the pork (25 ytl/pizza).
Kiki
p.s. they also do an excellent Cesaer salad
- and, no, I don't work for them... just happen to be a big fan (:

 Pizza Stone
Thanks for the tip, RSA. We'll be sure to try some of the other places (but I still think Da Mario's is a good option for anyone living in the Etiler/Levent area).
By the way, I bought a pizza stone at Debenham's in Cevahir. It's a must if you're a real at-home pizza fan. You heat it up in the oven and then either bake or reheat a pizza on it. Makes pizza nice and crispy- and keeps it from burning. A little tip- sprinkle a bit of Semolina on the pizza stone before addig the pizza.
Also, I finally found pizza spice (the hot crushed red peppers you find at lots of restaurants) at the Spice Bazaar. It's not as moist as the Aci Pul Biber you find in most of the shops here.

Thanks for the compliment, Bhaklava! Another American friend of mine, here for eye surgery, seems to agree with you about the BBQ chicken -- he's ordered three so far!
For you pork eaters -- The Family Pizza Place (yes, on Kucuk Aya Sophia) is halal. Sorry.

Best Pie on the Asian Side=Il Palazzo Di Pizza
This place is fantastic, great veg options and they deliver through the Yemek Sepeti website. Its in Acibadem. Found it just as I'm getting ready to leave, isn't that how it always works.
