Post Good Restaurants in Besiktas
Are there any?

Apart from Clive's fish restaurant (what was the name?), I've not come across anywhere you can go for a nice meal. I don't really consider Vogue to be in Besiktas.

Would be interested to know.

Have to agree though, Besiktas does lack decent restaurants, we nearly always venture outside if we want to have a nice meal; normally Ortakoy / Nisantasi / Macka or Bebek

Vogue but that is Akaretler (Besiktas). Also on that road is Cafe City but think it's closed at night. Has nice garden.
Also the Indian by the pizza place.

Anyone eaten in the fish place above Beer Port?

That little red place on the corner near the Barbaros entrance, I believe it is called Bursa that serves a tasty Iskender.
There is a tiny little kaymak shop, painted blue run by an old couple that serves great menemen and probably some of the best kaymak around.
There is also a famous firin that sells really good kuru pastalar called Hasan Pasa.
Of course, there is the fish market and adjacent restaurants. They do wonderful guvec. I also hear that Çitir is good.
There are also excellent sucuk eviler along the main footroute thru downtown. Mmmm...

I think the ticket to finding good food in B'tas is seeking out the little pocket-size restaurants or getting referrals from local B'tasli folks, which I am not, but I go there frequently. Cheers!

You sound like me Dano!
There's a nice vegetarian two-floored place in the street across from the hamam, owned by a photographer. Load up your plate with the daily specials.
Best bean place in town is down the cobbled street next to the sock/slipper seller by the big eagle!
Best meat sandwich is opposite the dry cleaners on your right as you come out of Migros!

I work in Besiktas so I know the small places but you wouldn't want to go for an evening meal there.

I will investigate! If you walk up 2 steps and there is a table on food on your left next to the kitchen and some steps on your right that not even a midget can get up - then it's the same place!
