Post Help me Asian babes!
I went to a restaurant on the Asian side - but can't remember it's name.

It's in the grounds of a big old floodlit house (pink comes to mind), tables are scattered around and it has Italian food......and that is all I can remember. Not much to go on! I think the actual building may be historic (beautiful ceilings) - what's the name????????? :D

Do you remember the general neighborhood? Was it close to the sea or further inland? If was inland a bit from Bagdat Caddesi, it may be Ethemefendi 36. Wonderful place, just down the road a bit from me!

That could be Ali Baba's Çay Bahçesi based on that description  :)

I doubt if I qualify as a babe but I'll be the place in question is Cafe Zanzibar in Caddebostan. On the seafront with a small anchorage protected by a breakwater? Eat outdoor by a bar and conservatory thing or indoor in the house with as you say pretty spectacular ceilings? If so then it was Zanzibar. Turn right down a small lane immediately before the Bang & Olufsen shop.

Might also be Rakkas (there are two the one I'm thinking of is not the one by the bridge). This is also in a converted Yali and has a swimming pool outside with tables etc. Located between Zanzibar and Migros.

I heard it's a gorgeous building. I can't wait to check it out. Is it in Kanlica? It must be a really nice area from what I read.

Kanlica is indeed a gorgeous area--one of my favorite in the city--but that's on the northern reaches of the Bosphorus. The area we're talking about is Bagdat Caddesi, a main shopping and entertainment avenue which stretches from Kalamis near Kadiköy all the way down to Maltepe, on the coast of the Sea of Marmara across from the Princess Islands.
