Post Looking for a decent Chinese Restaurant on the Asian Side
I am looking for a decent Chinese restaurant on the Asian side. I have noticed a couple of take away kind of joints on Baghdad Caddesi but I am not sure how good they are. Info on any other venues on this side of town would also be welcome.

I understand that what with their actually being in Turkey, any Chinese restaurant in Istanbul would have to cater more for the Turkish taste in food but what I am looking for is a place as authentic as one can get.

There is one Moda Caddesı that is pretty decent. It's always has a good flow of customers and the owner is from Hong Kong and speaks English. One thing though, don't bother going if you are a veggie! I am, and somehow they don't seem to grasp the concept of not wanting meat in your food!

RE: Erenkoy-area Chinese: Fan Fang is the better one--and cheaper too! Jong Hwa is revolting. I'm still mad at Chinese in Town (the Nisantasi location, though) for ripping me off 40 YTL last year.

We used it for the first time over the weekend for--you guessed it!--Chinese food! We got it from the place in Kiziltoprak and it wasn't bad. Prices are a bit higher than I expected, but was worth it. FYI--the main dishes do not come with steamed rice as they do in the US, so be sure to order it separately. Food was very hot, very tasty, with a good dose of fresh (not dried) ginger to my beef and vegetables. Kiddo had sweet and sour chicken and loved it. I give 'em four out of 5 stars. Oh, and they got here within about 25 minutes.

Is there a place on the Asian side that offers an "all you can" eat Chinese buffet? I love me some "all you can eat"; imagine Homer in that "all you can eat sea food" episode and times that by ten. Come for the freak; stay for the food.
