 MUSAFIR - INDIAN RESTAURANT
Hi All
Need to make some clarification here. It's true I havent been there. I dont even know where the blinking place is. Have no connection with THAT Indian restaurant or any connection with Gironymo1 least of all him. (Your Highness the truth nothing but the truth) At that time when I answered (refer my first mail please) I didnt know Gilly is an Indian. As Giro is an Indian, I told myself well, he is an Indian he should know better about his local dish. Whether I deserved that kind of reply from Gilly (his first reply) or not that's beside the point. I can take any kind of criticism but his reply starts the ball rolling. It was not directed at Gilly and if he has misconstrued that sentence of mine TOO BAD. I was just playing along with his rantings. In fact I am amused. I'm sorry if I have deflated your ego. Please refer to one of my mails I DID say SORRY MATE after I learnt you are an Indian from Scotland.
Will take up your offers one of these days cos would like to meet you lot. Flying off to Antalya be back next Sunday.
Although I am not an Indian, I do know about the preparation of curries cos we prepare the curry powder ourselves. In fact I still have some home-made countries.
I accept the olive tree.

Curry tomorrow night. As there has been so much talk of curries lately, I thought it a good idea to have one. I started a thread in Activities. Anyone interested?
Gilly, where would you recommend?

David,
Had a curry at Dubb in Sultanahmet (just round the back of the Cistern) last night and it was excellent. I would recommend paying it a visit.
The starters that I tried were all good, and I tried both the Korma and Vindaloo and I think they are as good as you'll get in Turkey.
The garlic and plain Naans are great too and they're the nice crispy type.
Thanks for the info MM girl, we are indeed planning to go to the Ritz Carlton before the 19th, which should be a great curry feast, which I'm looking forward to!
Have a good feast tonight David.

Checked out the January 2007 issue of TimeOut Istanbul at starfish's last night. They reviewed Musafir and gave it 3 out of 6 stars with the review being quite positive.
You could join me in having written a letter to them. In the same issue it was reported that there were 25,000 murders in New York last year (um, sorry - try 539 in New York City and 874 in the entire state of New York) and that Americans eat peanut butter and Jell-O sandwiches (a bit of confusion between what 'jelly' means to someone from the U.K. vs. someone from the U.S.). The image of someone trying to eat a Jell-O sandwich is pretty amusing (watch it wiggle, see it jiggle....)
