 I need some suggestions
My parents are coming to Istanbul tomorrow and it's my fathers' birthday on Thursday. We want to go to a nice restaurant, good view, good food and not too expensive. Any type of cuisine would be good, but I think a fish restaurant would be best. I have no idea where to go...Would love some suggestions!
Thanks!!

Don't know where you live but Doga Balik in Cihangir, roof top, good view, fish and not really expensive. Other proposals to come if you let us know which part of town you want to go to.

I live in Gumussuyu, so Cihangir is perfect!
Thank you!

Doga is a great suggestion although when I dined there alone, the bill was 75YTL with just some small appetizers, a green salad with tomatoes , fish in a skewer and water. Ask for a table near the window for commanding views.
You may try Vogue too in Besiktas tower. I'll spend my 75YTL and more there for better Bosphorus views and plusher surroundings. Sushi is good there.

If u want to travel a bit further there is plenty of nice fish restaurants by the bosphorus.
for example:
Pescatore
Kireçburnu Kefeliköy Cad. No: 29/A
Sarıyer İstanbul
Tel : 0 212 223 18 19
I is not all the way to Sariyer, just a little after Yeniköy on the Bosphorus!
Here is one good collection, unfortunately in Turkish, but u can read the photos?

Recommended Poseidon (Bebek) and Refik (Tünel) depending on budget! Easy to find for a beginner!

SET in Kefelikoy has great meze's and very good fish combined with a unique view of the entrance to the Black Sea, and not expensive at all.
Cold starter, the beans are simply the best. As for warm, the calamares is better then in most double as expensive places and for the lover: kokorec is a treat. They even have Asian style fish-meatballs and mini fish-burgers.
Take the boat to Saryer (a pleasure in itself) and from the Iskele a 5 min taxi-ride.
With 2 mezes, fish, coffee and half a bottle of wine a person, you should be under 40YTL per head.

as Mr. E mentioned Black sea Pafuli came to my mind. And it is closer too, at Kuruçeşme.

for indieqn: it s a restaurant outside just in front of the see, near the galata bridge on the right, after the fish market. it s very simple and cheap, -(but finally perhaps not appropriated for a birhday party, aya)- İt s the place I go always with my french visitors because of the turkish atmosphere (typical market etc..) and the view and we take the only thing Im able to ask (cupra, very good fish and of course fresh). And the evening, bira (but you have to hide it) is possible!!

Vincent555,
You mean Karakoy I guess. I was wondering where it would be in Kadikoy. Sorry I have to post my direct questions here as well as I am not entitled to PM yet!
