Popped in to Otto in Tunel for a post eclipse pizza with Gece this week. This place is a little gem, very cute decor, good service music kept me happy..They played Cure for ages (showing my age!)
Most important point the food..very tasty pizza (huge) real wood fired oven, prices for pizza run from 12-20 ytl..they also had a range of salads, pastas and a few mains like steak etc..
Gece talked to the guys there and it seems like they clear the tables away at 11pm ish and turn the place into more of a bar..really liked it..5 stars from me, they gave us our coffees on the house.
what did the newbies from last night think??

Needs a better wine selection but apart from that..........top marks to my mate Nevsat who runs it!
He switched from Lokal to Otto. Good bloke. If a little hairy these days! :D
Pizza was massive. Biggest portion (of ravioli) I've ever had. Molto al dente but who's complaining!!?
Love it and will be going back..and back...and back!

Ahh I saw a very hairy bloke...so thats the boss..
I thought the wine selection was ok, with pizza etc in that kind of place do you really want to shell out big bucks for wine?
We hope to make it one of our regular spots..
Charly do you know if it gets busy at the weekends..should you book?

Don't know my dear but I always find that Lokal and Flamm are fully booked after 9pm at weekends.
Don't know if it has a pre-Babylon crowd (the place is next to Babylon guys BTW).
If in doubt, I can always pass on Nevsat's number. The place was featured in Istanbul Life if you have a copy to get the main number.

I would not say it´s a 5 star restaurant but it has nice atmosphere and the music is silent enough to still have good discussions. I had a tasty roastbeef pizza and you should definitly try it if you like green salad (just try, you will understand).

For the wine: I asked for a wine from Chile, they had one and it was a nice Merlot. For pizza and wine I paid 60 YTL, which is ok knowing that this kind of wine is very expensive in Turkey. So yes, I can recommend the Otto

P.S.: You might not have noticed it yesterday, but beside the Expat group there was only female guests on the tables... so boys, if you feel lonley tonight... maybe you want to go for a Pizza

Otto ?

Ja,bitte!

Warum?

I LOVED the place..Ravioli(with spinach) was excellent.I tasted several pizzas of my EIT friends and all were fine!

I guess it's going to be one of my frequent choices in Tunel area.

Auf wiedersehen..

Post Tried it for the first time
I went there on Saturday, it was sooo crowded but if u go there with bunch of ppl you like to have conversation with, (outside not indoors) , it's a nice place... Considering the weather is getting colder and colder.. I don't think I'll have the chance to go there again. Too bad.

I often pass by this on way back from Asmali Mescit and have been curious about it - especially as the whole street around it seems to have really taken off this summer... it's become so lively and jammers outside at weekends even if nearby Babylon closed for summer! Haven't been there yet myself but.

I certain person at OTTO owes us a very big amount of money - from a previous venture. enjoy your pizza but never go in to business with the bearded one.
