Post Pancake question from my non-member roommate
My roommate poses this question:

"Where can I get effing pancakes in this city?" We were talking about IHOP this morning. I told her to make her own pancakes but she replied, "there's got to be maple syrup!"

---the roommate of a frustrated new expat

Post Breakfast Syrup Recipe
My aunt gave me this recipe before we moved here and it is really really good.

Breakfast Syrup:
1 Cup white sugar
1Cup brown sugar
1 Cup water

Bring all ingredients to a boil. Allow to cool. Can be stored in fridge for at least a week (we always finish if off in that time, it may keep longer!)

There is maple syrup here - pricey, but it's available. Tell her to try Migros or Carrefour.

Kahvedan in cihganir. Pancakes aren't exactly right, but close enough and they have a reasonable fascimile of syrup.

Why pay money for pancakes? Betty Crocker buttermilk pancakes work just as well as home here..... (add lemon juice to the milk) :)
