Post Spazio at Reina and the cafe at Ulus Park
Hey people

Back in boring old Denmark now  Oh well, I forgot to mention two places you shouldn't go to eat cause they suck!!

Spazio:
Rude waiters, very limited menu (only about 6 main courses), you HAVE to pay a minimum of 70 YTL per person eventhough you have only eaten and been drinking for 40 or 50 YTL, it is up on the third or fourth floor where you can't see much of Reina or the view...

Ulus Park:
Went there about a month ago where there were bugs in the food and the food we got weren't prepared well. Old lettuce, eggs etc. (i hope you get the picture). When we mentioned this to the annoying waiter he didn't care and said that we had to pay for the food we hadn't even touched cause we thought it was discusting! We asked to talk to the manager but he was an absolote b...... This stupid manager mentioned that what we said wasn't true cause they were very thorough when preparing their food (yeah right!). We argued back an forth with the manager and waiter but nothing happened and they were stubborn!!! SO we paid the f.... bill just to get out of that place and from now on we tell everyone about what a bloody place it is...

Stupid places!!!

Is there any good places to eat in Istanbul at all where the waiters are actually nice and providing a good atmosphere???! :?

There are some Twistygirl...........but service is variable in most places

i actually went to Ulus park and loved it....but then again..i didnt eat there. The view is magnificent though. i guess the tip here is to go and enjoy the view but only have a drink. Shame the management are a bunch of w*nkers. Seems to be a few of those around. Maybe because its tourist season and they can afford to be choosy??

Post Waiter Restaurant situation in Istanbul
Hey there, well let me tell you how it is in Turkey. When you project yourself as a foreigner who DOESNT speak the language  , that is the moment waiters may get cockyish, or play dum, however uttering a few words of wholesome Turkish "let's get this thing cleared up", will get you through your problems on the spot and matters will start to dwindle. It happened to me in Italy. The minute I couldn't utter a few words of wisdom in Italian, boom noone seemed to care about what Iwas saying. xo

I've actually found it to be the opposite!! The more Turkish you speak, the more it completely freaks out the poor waiter!!

i find that touching the waiters a lot allows you to bond and obviates most problems.

Post Have to agree about Ulus Park- food poisoning
I was terribly ill in July after eating a mushroom omelette at Ulus Park cafe... It took 3 weeks to get over it.
