38YTL for 12 pieces of what exactly? Three kinds of fish? Are they counting six maki pieces as 6 pieces? Fortunately I travel enough that I am able to eat great sushi around the world regularly, unfortunately the absolute best sushi in istanbul equates to boxed sushi sold in the Metro in Moscow or the absolute worst sushi places in the US. I concur with someone above that it is better just not to eat it at all for the most part as it is so poor, and overpriced for what it is....

So, if I tell you what the 12 pieces were, will you ask me where the fish was from and whether it was happy before it was cut into pieces?

The sushi at Vogue was good (and not expensive). Full stop.

But then, that's only my opinion, I know nothing of the rest of this planet, and have never tried sushi in the Moscow Metro. I should, of course. Or not.

Actually Moscow metro sushi sucks, but is generally better than anything served up here. Sorry to be this way, but I am a sushi Nazi, I do not expect a decent place to necessarily offer a half dozen varieties of Tuna for starters (although I was in a great place last week in LA that did have great Blue Fin, Albacore, Big Eye, Albacore Toro, White Tuna, Yellow Fin, Cold Toro, Standard Toro, Cold Toro, and a half a dozen other varieties of Tuna, and that is before we get to the other 60 or so items on the menu - oh yeah, the place was nothing special and a 46 piece spread of Sushi and Sashimi (plus 4 hand rolls of our choice) cost less than $45 - admittedly not including a few of the more exotic tuna bits), I do not require fancy and more esoteric rolls, and will not touch Fugu, but I do demand a greater selection than farmed sea bream, farmed salmon, Surumi sticks, and perhaps one or two of the blandest cheapest fish that were found at the local market that week that approximate normal Sushi. I require some decent fish of decent freshness, decent quality, a decent selection, decent service, well prepared sushi and prices which are not stupid for what they are offering.

Anybody tried Cafe Bunka? It's in japanese Culture and Information Center on İstiklal Cad. Ana Çeşme Sok. No: 3. This is the street behind French Consulate. Nice. Not pricy, either.

Holy Shit!! I know what to order for my mother-in-law now.

The victim remains fully conscious throughout most of the ordeal, but cannot speak or move due to paralysis, and soon also cannot breathe and subsequently asphyxiates. from wikipedia

Monkban,

UDONYA is lovely.
V authentic. A bit pricey and the service can be SLOW sometimes when it's crowded, but food is top notch.

There is also TOKYO off Istiklal Cad (Meselik Sokak No.24)
Have not tried it, but their sushi menu is extensive.
