Yeah we covered this place already - in Name and Shame I believe. I slated the DJ who has since been fired. I'm mates with the owners but this will be a one season wonder no doubt!

Love this from their website: "Britania <sic> atmosphere in Taksim."

Actually, the staff there are extremely nice.

I would only go to a british pub if it had guiness on draft, fruit machines, salt and vinegar crips, friday night fights and busty barmaids. Otherwise whats the point?

Damn I'm going to open a bar here - embarrassing for expats that some places get away with being British/Irish etc!!!! Won't be hard getting the money (did you know that a big barrel of Efes only costs YTL140? Bet they hold 100 litres...profit!) but it's just the dodgy landlords that put me off (Fado is a great example).

Guiness hasnt done a deal with the goverment to allow them to import here and besides Efes doesnt want the competition.

bit of a tangent, but... where are the best prices for british and irish beer in istanbul that can be bought from a store? Is there some general distributor? Where can you buy in bulk at wholesale prices?

guiness cant enter turkey cause, with its mean taste, efes is a kind of monopoly here.... in order to let in another company to the domestic market, they want huge amount of money due to they have a contract with the state... need to go sofia for a pint of draft guiness, was 6 levas...
