Post Tokyo (the restaurant, not the city!)
Went to Tokyo Restaurant last night. It's just off Istiklal Caddesi, diagonally opposite from HaciBaba. When you walk down Istiklal from the square, take your first left at the Dovis and it's 1 block up on your right hand side.

Not too bad at all. Fairly good selection of sushi, sashimi and handrolls. Also have ramen, udon noodles etc and a few other hot dish choices. Service was good and I was heartened by the sight of a real oriental presiding over things in the kitchen (not just the token orientals as often seen at other asian restaurants). Price-wise came to just over 115YTL for 2 people with drinks, sushi, sashimi and a bowl of noodles each. I haven't tried that many japanese places around town, but I would rate it higher than Hai Sushi. Overall I guess about a 7 out of 10. I'll definitely go back there again.

A couple of my old students were the architects for that place and I can vouch for the originlality and quality of the chef's. Can't afford to eat there though!
