 SPOILER-- John Updike's "Terrorist" Has anyone else read this? I thought the ending was a real cop-out. I also found myself wondering if Updike has been reading too much Thomas Hardy, because most of the book is comprised of lengthy descriptions of scenery. However, the trash-strewn parking lots and strip malls of New Jersey hardly rival the bucolic English countryside....
