 Marmok Bike Festival Hi southern people. I'm riding down for the Marmok bike festival in Aktur / Datca ( http://www.marmok.com/Default.asp), leaving early Wednesday morning and hopefully arriving early evening.
There should be well over 2,000 bikes turning up, so lock up your daughters and get the beer flowing.
Anyone up for a beer Thurs / Fri evening?

Box drivers are welcome. I'm not sure what has been arranged for the event but it should be fun as well as good chance to ride the roads in that area. Is the ambulance service any good around there?

And I bet you wouldn't call Mervin Hughes a village people cast member to his face.

Apparently at the festival they are holding the 'Datca Badem Guzelik' contest ( Miss beautiful almond ).

I shaved specially for it, my bikini line is perfect. I just hope my beard won't be a problem......it's not as long as many Turkish women's.

It was a great festival, even if the bands were crap. The beer made up for that though.
The ride back was a little difficult in 40 degree heat, not so much because of being uncomfortable but more because the roads melted into a thick soup.
Got to say that I liked Datca, nice place to retire when old and wrinkly, eh CH?
