 Welcome to Turkey BigBri
Hylô, Sut mae? Llongyfarchiadau, Croeso i Twrci. Just wondering about our bigbri and how he is doing in his new home in Kusadasi? Where are you Bri? We are getting fed up with the cheesy jokes from the others and need some decent ones from you.

Welcome to Turkey and enjoy Kusadasi! One of my favorite places in Turkey...and ysbediau heulong...whatever the [bleep] that means--all I know is that it's track 7 on the Super Furry Animals' Welsh language album welcome again

Wow, then it's strangely appropriate for Kusadasi!

 OK folks, I've arrived.
I've just got my bits and pieces from UK via Starman, thanks Steve, and of course I dug out my trusty (rusty) old PC first to get talking again. I say 'rusty' because the innards are a bit slow for modern graphics and I need to replace some important parts. Well. it's good to be here in Kusadasi, or about 7k out toward Soke actually, opposite the Onura hotel, and it's really nice to be back in touch with the mad bunch!! Hoping to meet up with Starman in 'K' this week together with some other expats from this area - I will be spreading the word. Must reserve some time to catch up with all the posts I've missed, but I'm heavily into domestics at the moment. Made the mistake of getting my house all newly decorated, Yikes . The Turkish decorator could be a rich man if he could just break the habit of 'splash painitng' the walls, windows, floors etc when he is only being payed to paint the ceiling. He could cut his use of paint by a huge margin, thus increasing his profits! Anyone got any info on getting a shine onto marble floors? I've scrubbed with 'Arap subunu' (Whatever that is!) and the floor is clean - but no shine. Come on girls, any ideas? Thats, about it for now, tea break over and back to work. Brian.

Sorry Bri, cant help you with the arap soap and anything else to do with cleaning but I am sure our in house house wives (charly, Glitter) could come up with something. Any chance of you getting some decent jokes up as we have been getting some really cheesy ones lately.

Bri, arap sabunu (Arab soap) is a vegetable-based soap good for most things except marble... try PRONTO CILA (in white bottle with green label). It should have a better result. When you look for cleaning products for floors (YER TEMIZLEYICI), make sure to look for 'MEMER' (marble) on the list of things it's good for. If all else fails, rent a buffing machine!

Well, I suppose I am the 'scrubber' at the moment I'll have a look for the other products mentioned - thanks. When I asked the lady receptionist in the hotel I used, she seemed to understand, then suggested in her limited English that I should 'Rent a woman." I suppose I could do that but I'd better get the floors clean first.
