So are these good or bad Crossie?

A little bit more info as to why folks should use them, or avoid them, would be helpful.

I think "great eating place" means good John, the Chinese opened the day we left Fethiye,so it is an info only posting.
Resturants good/bad, depends where you live, and the standard of place you frequent.
If your a southener with lots of dosh, and eat at upmarket London establishments, then the Park Cafe might be a bit of a letdown.
If from the north and used to fish and chip shops, and pub grub, then the Park Cafe is OK.

Then theres the Nefes Pide(I think thats how you spell it) sort of to the rear of the Fethiye Mosque.
Basic, but very good, beer has to be sold in paper cups as the resturant is in sight of the Mosque.
chicken in the oven, with bread, large water, for two £6.00.
good quality food,good service.

Nefis pide is very good quality, the problem is Efes in paper or plastic cups! A couple of years ago glasses were not a problem. Sign of the times I suppose.

Annes restaurant on Calis beach is good. Good food friendly staff and good service.

Crossie, I had kinda worked out that "great eating place" might mean you thought it was OK, but it's always useful if you say why it's a great eating place. Helps folks to decide if they want to give it try as well.

Nefis Pide, cant disagree there. Always excellent pide and very inexpensive. Only ever had soft drinks there so the Efes issue not a problem so far :D. If I remember correctly, they do serve alcohol in proper glasses inside; similar practise to the restaurants in Ortakoy, although I could be wrong as I can't remember ever eating inside at Nefis!

Well its good to see nefis is still doing well. I used to eat there often when I was living in the bog (calis) down there back in '92.
Will check it out if I ever happen to go there again and have some free time.

ECE SARAY: great place for a quiet drink at sunset. some items expensive by my budget, so glad I wasn't paying. Mixed drinks 15-20 YTL, Beer 6YTL. But herbal tea 2YTL, which is fine by me with such a tranquil setting

LETOONIA: wouldn't usually go to a holiday village/hotel for a meal (who would??), but the gardening--all the palms, bouganvillea, pepper trees, views, etc-- very picturesque. Don't mind being taken there. No idea about cost. The setting is still nice after all these years.

disclaimer: my inlaws were trying to impress me, hence the odd locations

That Aydin pide in Calis is good they make a good pide and pizza. The soup kitchen in Calis is also good for a plate of brain soup and some nicely cooked brain with rice as well, if one requires! The chicken soup is the best.

Nefis Pide is one of my Fethiye faves. I Loooove the Iskende Kebab there. I was given to understand that the reason they serve Efes in paper cups is that they aren't licensed to sell alcohol, so they disguise it as pop. Although it may also be because pf the proximity to the Mosque.

The Wine House in Karagozler is superb! The food is excellent and as of now it is the only place that can truly cook a steak! The wine is excellent too. It is just before you get to the boat yard next to Ata hotel. Service excellent, beautiful surroundings and all at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit trust me!

I am going to try and get down to Fethiye this summer, even if its just to annoy mr & mrs miserable. I might check the wine house but will not be going to that dump "bananas" or the Hackney council estate up in the hills.

The Wine House is about 2mins from our apartment and it's one of those places we've been meaning to try since it opened. Heard mixed reviews about it, but overall more positive than negative.
