 Hotel/bar work in Izmir or the Bodrum-Alanya coastal area I was wondering if there are any job opportunities for multilingual speakers at the coast. Given the fact that they have tourists from all over the world speaking different language, there may be local hotels or bars needing staff to deal with the tourists in their own mothertongue. I speak Dutch, English, French and German. I guess lot of places are recruiting now for the summer season, however is it realistic to find something here, and do I need to fly over to go asking around or do some recruit over the internet?
Also, what exactly is the average salary in this industry? (I know it won't be much, but as long as it's enough to get around I don't mind...)

Good luck trying but I think you will find it difficult as in the areas there are plenty of multi-lingual Turks who can do these jobs and they have the added benefit of speaking Turkish aswell. In any event I think that you'd need to be here to find a job.
Maybe others will have different opinions though

I would agree that most bars and places would see little need to have someone speaking those languages if they have an English speaking Turk, also a lot of the customers in the places will also be Turks so you would need to speak Turkish. In terms of wages you would expect maybe 600-700 YTL a month, around 230 pounds, (if it is a nice fairly classy place) for working 6 days a week.

on the other hand gerrit, i ve been to some place in Bodrum where there were turkish and foreign bartenders were working together and it wasn't a problem for the guests since most were speaking fluent english anyways. i think u ll manage it fine
