household insurance premium

 household insurance premium We have just received our household insurance renewal and its 913 TL!
We bought our apartment in Kas in May 2004 and were living in Jersey (Channel Islands) at the time so I guess approx £350 for household insurance didn't seem too exy then but now that we are living here its seems extortionate. Can anybody recommend a cheaper insurance company?

Which company was it with and how much was the insurance for? was it 20,000 ytl or more?

Hi Starman
Thanks again for your help. I don't know the name of the insurance company as our managing agent pays all our bills for us, but I do know that it is insured for £80,000 plus £13,000 contents. I know that there is an amount of 125TL for compulsory earthquake insurance and I have absolutely no problem with that but the rest does seem a bit steep. I will find out the name of the company and get back to you.

Hi Starman
The insurance company is Isik Sigorta and apparently they have offered a 100TL discount because we have queried the cost.
