a new American Bistro Cafe in Kas
If any of you get to Kas this summer...go check out Mid-Town Cafe in the old part of town.
My daughter (the professional chef) is working there this summer. She's thrilled with the place and
the new owners. The 'bistro' will open on May 15, INSALLAH... She's a fantastic cook with enough experience behind her to make this place a real nice place to eat.
If you do get there, be sure to take some photos and send them to me...I can't go there this year
but I'm very interested to see what they've done and what they are doing.

I have no idea what the Address is...but i can give you an idea of where it is...
(what do i know? i'm just the mother...)
It's 'near' the oto gar...there's a bookstore across the street...
the name is Mid-Town Cafe .. it's not large...seating for 32 ... all open under grape vines
with lots of flowers.
it probably looks like every other place in Kas! hahahaa
i'll have to call my daughter for specifics...
do you have a mobile phone?
I can send your number to her and she can direct you once you arrive.

 UPDATE ON THE MID-TOWN CAFE
Well, they've been open all of four days and so far, things are going GREAT!
Leah's specialities are HOT WINGS, with her very special sauce (nothing bottled...she's a REAL chef and knows how to COOK)...and Garlic Fries...she's also got a grilled veggie sandwich that's been very popular this week and their hamburgers are OUTASIGHT...prices are very reasonable...yes, they do sell beer for all you Alkies..
The food is good and fresh...I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
As for location in Kas, ... still not 100% sure since I've never seen the bistro myself..but it's right next to an
ancient sarcophogus that 'everyone comes to look at'...whatever that means... so it must be on the 'tourist route'...
If you do get there, be sure to tell me what your opinion of the place is..
and say HELLO to Leah and Phoenix for me.
Enjoy your trip!

From your desciption, you would have to go down to the harbour on the left handside as you face the boats and walk up a hill about 40 metres

maybe...what do i know??
it's supposed to be not far from the bus station/oto gar?? but then again, kas is so small that everything in the old town isn't far from the oto gar!!!
at this point, a lot of folks know where to get garlic fries and grilled veggie sandwiches!! not to mention hot wings..
if you want to find it, you can!
the name is Mid-Town Bistro/Cafe..they also have very good Cappicino...
enjoy!!!!

been there done that.. where is my t-shirt!!
Hey we have been there!!
small little one with friendly staff.
unfortunately we have booked at aon other restaurant so had to go there only for an hour to see Leah. She kindly offered us beers
I am sorry to have missed the "she is a chef, you should try her garlic fries bit" since I wasnt on the forum trying to gather everything in order before our flight. when we called leah to find out where she was, she talked about "a tomb where everyone comse to have a look at" We asked the waiter at the restaurant, he pointed at a stone just outside the very restaurant we were in. apparently midtown bistro was only 10 meters away! Gd, what an effort we have made!!
but your daughter is very friendly and her chit chat is very taking... Loved to talk to her and my boyfriend kindly took some pictures of the two of us, and also her at the entrance of the cafe.
I wish you all the luck with the vitray work, Leah has been talking about it...
and please give me your email so that I can send them to you when I have the time. alternatively, I will upload one of me and her to my personal gallery! take care
everybody... go to kas and go to midtown cafe!

great!! enjoy it...i wish i could see it too.
my daughter tells me that they are gaining a 'reputation' for
great food...her hamburgers are OUT OF SIGHT...real hamburgers, not kofte...and they also do (sorry
if you're either a practicing Moslem or if you keep Kosher!!) they have bacon (real bacon) and mushroom
burgers!! and her Caesar Salad with grilled chicken is terrific...i know, i taught her how to do it!!
they are also serving grilled mixed veggie sandwiches...by the time you get there, in July, who knows
what other wonders she will have created!! they also have smoothies and great coffee...
their hamburgers come with REAL french fries ('cips' to you Turks) not frozen stuff...and a side
salad and a pickle...
my mouth is watering for some of this stuff even as I type!!
bon appetit...
enjoy !!!
