Does anyone know of a good dentist on this side. Preferably not too expensive but definately English speaking.

A few months back tijaneohio posted a recommendation for an English-speaking dentist in Bakırköy. Not on the Asian side, I know, but with the fast ferry from Bostancı or Kadıköy to Bakırköy she will be quite easy to reach. The Carousel Mall is easy to reach by foot from the Bakırköy fast ferry terminal:

I went to Sevket's dentist a week ago for a root canal, and had an excellent job done by a Turkish woman who speaks English. I highly recommend her. She returned my calls immediately, even on a Saturday evening and a Sunday, and has been super all around.

I was petrified to have a root canal done by a Turkish dentist and Dr. Birman was a delightful surprise. I have lots of experience with root canals, and this was one of the better experiences I've had, even considering the tooth was abscessed.

Plus of course I was gratified to find that the bill was one-sixth, or less, of what I would have paid in the US....

i use a great and cheap and english speaking dentist over here - at the academic hospital in altunizade (if you take the dolmus from uskudar to kadikoy or vice versa, you pass by it)
