 Dog Sitter Needed
Does anyone know a reliable, trustworthy dog sitter who would be willing to come and stay with my dogfamily for 4-5 days in mid-oct? In Cihangir.
I really prefer someone who will stay, but a minimum, it would be feeding/walking twice a day.

 Dog sitter found:)
Hi Cequirk.
If you tell me how much you plan to pay, I can send you a trustable female dog sitter...

cequirk, I'll be in Istanbul on October 29th. We currently live in Gumussuyu, Taksim, so Cihangir is a stone's throw away. I love dogs and would be happy to take walks with them, but not stay over...

Hi,
I am deserately looking for a dog lover who has the time (not away working all day) and facilities (their home) to take care of our dog (labrador female) for 2 weeks starting mid December.
I've been to look at kennels and a "dog hotel" but neither were what Im looking for. I would simply like to offer our dog a similar lifestyle while we are away, i.e. being around people, taking walks and getting lots of attention
Do any of you know someone ???
Thanks in advance...

rbd, have you thought of having someone stay in you home for dogsitting instead? I think this scenario will allow you to find someone more easily.
You cannot shake a stick in Istanbul without finding a cash-strapped Erasmus student who'd likely be interested. I found 2 such students by advertising in craigslist and they both did an excellent job.
If your dates cross Christmas it may be a little more difficult to find someone, but worth a try.

hi there -- I do have a fantastic dogsitter, but I know she's booked at that time, and if she has any extra time I plan to take it! also, she's more likely to stay at your place than have your dog come to her.

RBD, did you find someone? I need one ASAP-- this weekend, for a week.
Burbaco, is it wrong for me to feel more than a little uncomfortable with craig's list? I poked around on there and it didn't inspire confidence, but I may need to flag someone in from the street if I don't find someone quick!

I haven't had any issues yet, cequirk. I generally try to have them stay with me for at least a week to see what type of people they are and how they are with the dogs before I leave them alone. If you PM me the amount you're thinking to pay, I can see if one of my dogsitters (German Erasmus student) would be interested.

hi cequirk, burbaco..
thanks for your tips. i somehow can't get myself to feel comfortable with having a complete stranger stay at our house while we are away. even if you have them stay with you for a week prior, they are still strangers, a week doesnt say much. im glad though it has worked out for you.
im still looking for a sitter who would take our dog in. at the moment she has a reservation on the flight to come along with us, which is an ABSOLUTE hassle (not to mention the cost) but so far the only solution.
If someone good still comes along within the next few days, PLEASE let me know.
thanks..
