What are you gyus on about:

100m² gives you a living room of 25m², 3 bedrooms of 20m² and 15m² for kitchen and bathroom and lobby. You all live in palaces or what?

Exactly, they are very liberal in what they include in that 100 sqm, and it is in fact generall anywhere from 75-85 sqm of living space, a 2 bdrm might be okay at that dimension, not a 3 bdrm. I find Istanbul 3 bdrm apartments at 140-160 sqm to be almost inteolerable, generally with a big living room, an okay sized main bedroom and two closets masquerading as bedrooms.

Too true. My flat is supposed to be 140 sqm, with three bedrooms. The living room is huge, the master bedroom and the larger guest bedroom are also relatively spacious, but the smallest bedroom is so minute, you need a particle accelarator to see it. Thanks to my Imelda Marcos like fetish for footwear, I now use it as an oversized shoe cabinet.

Is this size discrepancy due to the fact that sizes are measured using the the outside dimensions of a property as opposed to the internal ?

More or less, I tend to question the numeracy of those that make the measurements.

so they don't care if the 100m² is right, even if it's actually 75 you shouldn't bitch and just take it for 25% more money per m² than you actually should pay.

They sound like they have a god syndrome

A libing room about 30 sq m, and 3 bedrooms, a separate kitchen, bathrooms, hallway and possibly at least one balcony..This is a typical Turkish flat

No reason to get all fired up

I have lived in London, Mex. City (yes, huge huge but uhmm for 4000 USD), and downtown Chicago for (3k for 70 sq m) and now..in Paris..in a 6th floor walk up for 1000 Euros..get this ..the flat is only 40sq metres.

1250 YTL is quite cheap for a 100 sq m. flat even it is located around Kozyatagi.

So what? And in Mogadishu it'll cost you $50 a month and Tokyo $8k, what's that got to do with the price of tea in China - that is the same sort of idiot excuse used by Emlak's and landlords when they try to screw foreigners here "but look at the prices in your city" who cares, this is Istanbul we are talking about. 1250 in/around Kozyatagi is okay if its a decent building, robbery if its not. When they first built the area back in the very late eighties, early nineties you could have rented half a building for that amount as it was a ghost town and still not great for getting to/fr many places w/o a car, at least there are taxi duragi's around now.
