Ok this is a slightly moot question as i already sort of live on edge of Kasımpaşa but i am thinking of moving to own place in either Tophane or Kasımpaşa and interested to get other people's views on the area? My mind is moving towards Kasımpaşa, i am a bit of a cheapskate and urban life lover when it comes to accommodation, but i am just wondering if i am being naive i thinking them to be fairly calm and safe areas to live in. What do people think of the two areas as places to live?

In Kasimpasa, I think that the streets differ from each other; you'd have to look at the specific area. then again, I would not like from a woman's perspective to walk around Kasimpasa at night. I would choose Tophane... I used to live in Sahkulu sokak in Tunel ages ago before it sort of gentrified and I have had those 'experiences' associated with living there; it was fun for me then.
