seggiest- I actually like Nisantası, but I would also argue that it is not very cosmopolitan......taksim is as cosmopolitan as I like to get, I hate Eminönü and places like that where you can appreciate other people's differences but they would not necessarily appreciate your right to dress and act as you please....
If you like Nisantası, then you would also probably like Bagdat Caddesi.....it lacks the historic buildings, but Cadde is great for shopping, has tons of cafes and restaurants.....definitely NOT cosmopolitan, in fact quite uniform, in the people but it is nice and relaxed.....Cadde people have a reputation for being overly tikki, I don't notice it so much anymore because I live there, but the one exception are the loads of rich teenagers oozing with brands in some cafes.....older people are usually more discreet.....

I used to live on the Asian side and I quite liked the Cadde too. Its flat as well which is great and thus good for walking.

It is flat? No holes, bumpy things, iron bars sticking out of the ground? That is boring!

Eh.. It may be boring, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Istanbul. I used to go to Taksim when I went out, but from here it is only 10 minutes away, so no biggie.
