 Picture framer?
Can anyone recommend a good picture framer, preferrably on the European side?

There's a few in Besiktas; my mother in law paints oils, and she uses one that is located behind the fish market.
If you hang a right as you approach the fish market from Barbaros, past Ahtapot lokantasi, then continue to the end, then take a left it should be down that street. Although bear in mind this is from memory and I haven't been there for quite a while but it should be in this general locale.

Hi amerlock,
The one on the main drag in Ortakoy just near the weekend markets - it is on the coastal street the buses use, about opposite the church and synagogue - seemed very good and had good prices and range of framingproducts when I went there last week. I haven't picked up the finished product yet so can't vouch for it yet!

There's an excellent one in Tunel across from KV restaurant, if you want intricate mat cutting and interesting frame options. I believe it's called Artrium. Looks like an antique mart from the outside. Their antiques and collectibles are gorgeous, too!
Otherwise, I usually go to bauhaus, praktiker type places for run of the mill framing needs.

 SABER
I think I should have said Tunel, instead of Galata. I still think they are almost same!
here is the adress for public use:
SABER ÇERÇEVE A.Ş. (CORP COMPANY?!!!)
anyway, they have this second floor workshop that you need to see. And when you want aprice, the owner (Sabri Eryilmaz) goes inside to another room, to his computer and calculates it on his PC and actually produces a costing sheet print out. Go in with him and watch him put the cms, etc to make sure the boys around dont mess with with your costing. (Nasty boys there are).
Sabri bey is nice, though. He is a pro. He is actually a lawyer but didnt perform. Ask him to show you his Galata tower paintings. He is collecting them to make an exhibition one day.
