 Pork!
Last month or so there was an article in Time Out about a Greek butcher in Dolapdere that sells the forbidden meat. I also heard about an Armenian who does the same (same place?) in the same area. The directions in Time Out were, in every sense of the word, useless. Does anyone know where this place is? Am achin for some bakin.

There's a place in Moda that does pretty good pork and lot's of imported groceries. It's called Milka and is located on Moda Cad. across from the Migros i.e. towards the Kadikoy end of the street.

I found it! There's a Shell station just past the light at the bottom of the hill coming down from Taksim, on the street to Dolpadere. It's just next to the shell station, but there's no sign so you might miss it. Stand in the lot of the Shell station and you'll see it.
Lots of italian wines, excellent peppercorn-encrusted salami, BACON, sausage, hams.
Giddy up!

I'm curious to know what the prices were like? Bacon's sold in Carrefour but at 20 YTL for 6 slices, it's just not worth it...

It's not cheap. I got two packets of bacon, a bunch of sausages and 400 gr of pepper corn salami and it was about 50YTL.
