Jess

Welcome to the 'hood!! Etiler! Home of the enlightened...and only minutes from Jonnys secret fridge (yes - I have seen the contents...simply amazing!)

So are you a tikki then?

See you for a cheeky beer sometime!

I'm an Etiler newbie too. Still struggling with Istanbul's double-digit beer prices, but I agree with previous posters, affordable fun is just a bus ride away (or a walk, but I really would recommend a bus or cab back from the Bos - Küçükbebek street's a killer!)...

Haha, Fatboytim, I'm definitely not a tikki! I sure as hell wish I had someone to give me a credit card and let me go! I live with the person I work for, I'm like a housekeeper/personal assistant. That is the only way I can afford to live in Etiler! I am a poor university student!

Post how much?
Only time I got charged that much back in Ankara was on an ill-advised after-midnight sojourn to Black & White. Never again.

Am I taking this off topic?

How about this then: Any of the existing EiT/Eti Massive manage to wrangle yourselves a discount at Hillside? No intention of joining while the weather is so good for running (and still skint post-move anyway) but may do come the summer...

pretty sure hillside offered 20% discount on quoted rates - actually the discount increased the more years membership you paid for...seem to recall that 2 years membership was realistic...who wants to sign up for 5 or 10?

btw - i used to drink at siyah v beyaz in ankara...we talking same place? second floor apartment close to roundabout on ataturk bulv/kugulu park?

I remember it being down some stairs, not up them, but yeah, sounds like the same place. Many, many B&W photos on the walls... Most times I went there with some people who knew some people (or something -- I was drunk) so didn't pay. Then I discovered the wicked truth! I don't even want to KNOW what a GnT was. I mean, inflated prices are fair play at Wok with the view n' all, but in a basement? Listening to the same ol' Ankara bands?

(yup, I'm a cheap git -- tho in my defence I was unemployed at the time, which is prolly why prices made such a lasting impression)
