Post Restaurants in Taxim
I need to find a nice place to eat next weekend in Taxim. My family is coming to visit and a friend will be meeting us there via havas from the airport so it needs to be a place that is really easy to give directions to. Any suggestions anyone?

Such a big question -
Do you want alcohol?
What kind of food (which country)? Vegetarian or anything goes?
Will they have bags?
What kind of budget?
What kind of crowd?

alcohol isnt necessary, and no one is vegetarian.
Turkish food would be nice, although it isnt a must.
We won't have any bags, our friend will just a have a backpack.
We will be with our grandmother, mother, father, and three young women.
A relaxing restaurant, we may be waiting for over two hours. Thank you!

How about Taxim Hill Hotel (http://www.taximhill.com), they have a nice restaurant I think, and it's easy to find. Otherwise the cafe/restaurant in the Marmara Hotel at Taksim Square is also nice and relaxed and easy to find.

Burger King!

So you will be walking at granny-speed so Istiklal would be bad then...and your friend will be arriving near Taksim Square...

How about making it really easy and going to a hotel in Taksim Square?
The Marmara is maybe too formal and pricey, though you could go downstairs.
However, there's also Taksim Hill Hotel. At street level is a cafe restaurant, which is OK, and they are used to people hanging out waiting for friends. On the 9th floor is a proper restaurant with a Bos view if that's better.

Really easy to find - if your Havaş friend makes for Taksim Square/looks up for the big Marmara Hotel TV screen, she'll see the other hotel on the right after Garanti Bank and Goldaş. There's a photo on the site:

There's an Italian place where the Havaş stops but I can't remember the name...
