in English of course. Has anyone seen one in Istanbul and if so, where? If I had this summer to do over again, I'd take lessons! Not many affordable books in America - I checked.

Hi Sadie,
I don't know of any books but I've just seen a very interesting documentary about the technique used to make Ebru sanat this week on TRT I am thinking about learning! I was wondering if you've joined any courses before in Istanbul or have you heard of any on?

I think there are lessons at Caferaga Medresesi next to Hagia Sophia. If not, they could tell you where. I was totally fascinated by it, I'm jealous you will take lessons! (I'm back in the US now.) Please let me know how it goes!

 Hi Sadie!
I remember seeing such a book at Istanbul Kitapçısı in Istiklal Street. Sorry I can't remember the name, but try checking as "marbling" among book titles by Turkish publishers. Good luck:)

 You lucky girl:)
The titles of the books I've mentioned are "The Dream of Water: Ebru" by Hikmet Barutcugil and "Turkish Tradition of Marbling" by someone I can't remember now:(
I hope these can help you...
