 Simpsons film without dubbing
Does anyone know a cinema where the Simpsons film is showing? We have a theatre in Maltepe but it is only showing some kids-orientated movies: Shrek, Harry Potter, and transformers. Does anyone know which cinema shows the Simpsons movie?

I think people commented that the one in Kanyon was showing Simpsons without dubbing, in most cinemas it is dubbed.

Sadly, Kanyon is the only place you can watch it in English (with Turkish subs, obviously.)

Thanks. How can I get to Kanyon per public transport when living in the Asian side? I don't mind going far away from Maltepe but I need a non-dubbed version obviously

To show my public transport cred..........A couple of options........ Get a minibus to Kadikoy, then a Ferry to Besiktas, From Besiktas take another minibus up Barbaros and hop out at Canyon. Alternatively, get to Bostanci, then take Dolmus to Taksim, when approaching the second exit off the E-5 ask driver to drop you under the underpass. one could then walk to Canyon (10-15 mins) or take a cheap cab ride.

Or get a bus to 4th Levent or Mecidiyeköy and then take the Metro to Levent where Kanyon is located. Which bus to take depends on whether you are closer to minibüs cd, the sahil yolu or E-5.

Or, alternatively:
Get a vapur to kabatas, take the funicular to Taksim, and from there take the metro to Levent.
You can enter Kanyon directly by following the signs at the metro station.

Hmmm, is it obvious that I haven;t even really considered transport options from the other side in over a decade? Throwing it all together, the best would then probably be a Sea Bus (much faster) from Bostanci or Pendik (don;t think there is a Maltepe one) to Kabatas, then the funicular to the metro to Levent.

I would have suggested that as well except the seabus from Bostanci to Kabatas doesn't run on weekends.
On a related note, they had a survey on ido.com.tr a few weeks back asking how often one would use a Bostanci-Kabatas seabus if it were to run on the weekends. perhaps they're considering to expand the service.
I'm thinking that a bus/metro is the quickest, least expensive and most convenient option (depending on exactly where in Maltepe he lives). The double-decker buses from Kartal-Sisli are air conditioned and he can get off in Mecidiyekoy and hop the metro to Levent.

I went to see it on Sunday and followed Tallpony's route via the sea ferry to Besiktas.
Decent film. Storyline was a bit bizarre even for Simpsons standards but I guess they just needed that to bridge the several sketches. Decent film overall. The sketches and dialogues were good. Just a pity that apart from Flanders no non-Simpson-family character got a decent role in the film.
I may go back next weekend to see Disturbia, also without dubbing.

Simpsons is for all ages. It has the slapstick moments for the young ones (but not for real kids, more for the "younger" audience as in "early teens") but the more sarcastic and ironic jokes are too hard to get for a young audience and definitely orientated at a more mature audience. That is what the series so great: it mixes all types of humor and will be attractive for anyone wanting to watch it, regardless of age.
