Verjen,
I haven't seen plain saltines, but Barilla makes a saltine brushed with olive oil and herbs. They are perfectly delicious. Several months ago they were in Gima, Carrefour, etc, but haven't showed up in awhile. However, I just saw them at the Milka shop on Moda Caddesi (in Moda) a week ago.

Passable peanut butter is available in the Yenikoy Macrocenter.

Burbaco --
Thanks. Will look for them, but still long for saltines with just salt.

Post Peanut butter
David, what do you mean by "passable"? We Yanks are kind of picky about our peanut butters. I'm not a fan of the Gold stuff we've found here (although can use it for a peanut sauce).

Ever tried peanut butter and banana? Or how about peanut butter and dill pickles? (I know... sounds ghastly, but I promise you it's delish!).

Amongst my mother's people (the hillbillies of Kentucky) peanut butter and maple syrup sandwiches are a delicacy.

I'm with you, verjen. I too crave the plain saltines so I can slather my Jif super crunchy on them.

It looks like peanut butter, smells like peanut butter and tastes like peanut butter, it must be...........

The jar doesn't have the Stars'n'Stripes but seems fine to me.

burbaco, what you do in your own free time is up to you, but I don't think many people want to know about you slathering on things, this is a family forum after all. Unless you made a video.

I found a jar of NUSCO peanut butter in the Macrocenter in Akmerkez.
It says on the jar it's made in Holland.

Doesn't taste very nice on bread, but ok for cooking/baking.

It tastes nothing like Skippy or Goober Grape!

Found İn Kipa Yesterday;
Lea & Perrins Worcester Sauce
Mint Sauce
Tartare Sauce
Chutney (not as good as ch's tomato chutney but will do in emergencies)
Heinz Baked Beans
Ocean Spray Cranberry & Blueberry Juice (a hefty 7 ytl a carton - but worth every single selfish mouthful)

I was so childishly excited by the discovery of the above (I don't get out much), I fail to remember the whole host of other stuff that we found....

Heinz Baked Beans? Send me 20 tins immediately, or I'll come down and cut your nose off.
