Post The commute to work
Got up early today and decided to take the boat to work. Emirgan to Besiktas going down the Boz. Definetley a relaxing way to commute to work.

You in the market for a Jetski then?

Most of my commute is through forest areas, it's certainly a pleasant way of starting the day.

Yeah but you'd look rank in a figure-hugging wetsuit so please don't.

Talking about my normal place of work; not the post in Qatar, which incidentally I quit.

I used to have an office below my apartment, and I hated it. I always felt as though I was at work and that I should be doing something constructive rather than watching TV in the evenings. I have an office at home for the rare days that I can't be bothered to travel into work, but for the most part I prefer to work away from home.

I have a half hour morning ride on a company service bus with black plastic seats down the E5, lovely and sweaty in the summer heat, always next to a fat man who keeps pointing out stories in Hurriyet he thinks i might be interested in (and ooo very exciting that the daughter of the late British consul is getting married!). This is preceded by a 15 minute walk up Tarlabaşı Caddesi at quarter to 8 in the morning, which smell wise is not a pleasant way to start the day.
