 Going to Carolina tomorrow..
..just like going to the circus. all sorts of funny looking people and weird food. cant wait to have me another serving of grits and fried pickles with a chicket/bacon/egg/cheese deepfried sandwich for breakfast. YEEE HAWWW..that'll wake you up boy. just ribbing. i did enjoy my last time there. good friends and times, but boy these people are sheltered. most you meet have never left the state. 'Cana-what? is that the capital of Mexico or sumptin?'

Hey... what part of NC? I lived in Chapel Hill for several years, and also in the eastern part of the state.

back from the circus and what a relief. so hot n' humid down there. again, amazed at the portions of food served at restaurants. went out for stir fry one night and took the leftovers home...lasted me 2 more meals had references about canada being a large city, one young man asked me if i was 'canadese' . saw some real back woods folk at a country diner, awesome accent and drawls, would love to shoot a documentary down there or in west virginia. their daughter, 17ish, petite, very attractive, in farmers boots, jeans and confederate t shirt love it! and as always, US customs agents are sooo nice and friendly to deal with. they make you feel criminal every time you enter. saw a licence plate down there...forget which state, but the motto was 'live free or die' - unbelieveable..these people are not living free. ignorant maybe, but not free but hey, good trip, good times with the friends and film shoot. but bye-golly, i cannot take that heat

"Live Free or Die" is New Hampshire. They think of their middle-class, suburbanite existence as "non-conformist" because they vote independent, don't have income tax and don't recognize holidays like Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Yes, but instead they have "States' Rights Day" or something of the sort.
