Post Re: not new but getting famous here now
[quote user="AlSF" post="45615"]Scot-born songstress/songwriter Kate Tunstall's Black Horse and A Cherry Tree was released last year but was just here in California on a US jaunt and will be touring here again soon. Due to this and her sheer talent of course, she's getting more airplay for sure. "Whoo on, whoo-oh" are now much more famous here than before. Her diary is interesting.

She is also the gay female icon , even though she is partners with her male drummer , must have that Angelina Jolie Vibe going on

Good Album though

She has also done many solo shows since her trademark has been her one-woman show...I saw a recent interview and she's just brilliant and relies on her talent and not playing up her sexuality like many of the female singers who seem to get it all out there to sell records and get a bigger slice of the fame pie.

The only sad part (imo) we don't get much of Maynard's voice.
it blurs with the music, which is sad, because he has an amazing voice..
(and most lyrics aren't available yet)

Hmmm, I haven't heard the new album yet but I would recommend it anyway! Sam Roberts "Chemical City" the follow -up to "we were born in a flame." Good canadian boy, from Montreal, and from the Pre-Arcade Fire boom. I've read that he's the heir to the canadian rock throne. I'm not sure any of you care about that though. One more monarch for me!

Check out we were born in a flame and Chemical City, Sam Roberts won't disappoint. Also, K'Naan, great canadian hi-hop artist! Touches on human rights, culture, etc... album, the dusty foot philosopher.

I would thoroughly recommend the Dixie Chicks new album, "Taking the Long Way." Beautiful vocals and intelligent lyrics, what more could you ask for?
