Ley-lao, are u here in Istanbul with that album or just gloating from Stateside?
I've been trying to download it but either the connection or my geriatric computer freezes up...
I'd love a copy...

Gotan Project - Lunática
I was in D&R yesterday and I was amazed to see that Gotan project had a new CD out.
So I flew at it and I have to say that it's an amazing album.
Notas sounds a lot like Santa Maria on the La revancha del tango album but that does in no way mean that it's bad.
favorites at the moment:
Amor porteño
Deferente
Celos
Lunático
Tango Canción
Criminal (amazing)
Arrabal
Domingo
so that only leaves Notas and Paris, Texas.
Great album, get it as soon as possible. (and listen it an an audio system with a subwoofer.

Not been back to the U.K for, erm, a while and Ive not been keeping up to date on my tunes. Recently acquired an i-pod and my best mate sorted me out with some great music:
The magic numbers - all of it is fab esp a track called mornings eleven - great to listen to on the way to work in the morning
Athlete - Tourist - again, most of the tracks are fab but I reallyam feeling two of the tunes... chances and wires (this one is a happy sad melody and really from the heart, I hear the guy wrote it about his son when he was poorly, bless)
Doves - love all of their music... not often that I listen to songs on an album all the way through on a first whirl but this band got me hooked. Listen to all of it!
Where have I been for the past 4 years? being in Turkey is no excuse, I really need to pull my finger out!
Come on guys, what you lot listening to?

another tune to give a whirl...
Athlete - modern mafia
Tell me something I don't know
'cause we've been there ten times before
Make it up as we go along
In so deep it can't be wrong
It's obvious that....

 Got Gotan
RSA, I forgot that my friend got the Gotan Project's current CD in Barcelona. We listened to it in Turkbuku and it awesome. I also like the tracks you posted.
Right now Kenan's newish album, Festival is being played a lot around here...Ara Beni Lutfen is heartbreakingly beautiful.
My current dance favorites are: the atmospheric "Unidos Para La Musica" by David Vendetta and Keith Thompson as well as his floor-stomping "Break for Love" both from a compilation album, Roger Sanchez presents 'Release Yourself' Volume 5 that I got from Ibiza last month.

Reet me mate and I reckon Infadels from Ingerland were pretty cool at Lowlands very energetic and guitar, house banging tunes , NewOrder meets a mellow Prodigy if that helps.
Also caught Paulo Nutini for a couple of tracks a 19 year old Glasgow Italian , wonderful vibe a la Jack Johnston but with a UK bias , he will be a star , the Album These Streets is quality.

Kasabian - Empire , is fing brilliant
Basement Jaxx - Crazy Itchy Radio , er brilliant
Guillemots - Another band we missed at Lowlands - Through the windowpane
and The Feeling-Twelve stops and home is Lush
Walking around town today , so many people buying Guitars and stuff the Brit pop scene is er vibrant dudes.
Got to go and check out the Kwakas cos I know someone that loves them.

When I stopped at Charles de Gaulle airport two weeks ago I picked up a few CDs: La Voile Rouge from the beach club in St.Trop of the same name, Mezzanine del'Alcazar Vol.4 from what used to be cool restaurant/bar in Paris and DanceFloor FG Summer 2006. Did not get to listen to them prior...the ones form the same places from 2005 were actually better. I mean, I like the tracks from last year's compilations than I do from this year's. So many remixes too: Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, Illusion, Somebody's Watching Me and Small Town Boy except they call it now Tell Me Why. Absolute waste of my Euro currency...

 Late Night Alumni
Listening to it since it arrived from Amazon a few days ago...the whole album's pretty good but not dope. The vocals are haunting and beautiful. 'Empty Streets' (also the title of the album) is the best song closely followed by 'The Rest of You'but I have also heard Nothing Left To Say before (from a Hed Kandi compilation from 2004). Definitely house tunes rule but also some slow and chilly ones. BTW, there is no BPM version of Empty Streets here. Bummer.

 Enigma & Kaskade
Enigma has released a new album, A Posteriori. I previewed the songs on iTunes and so far I downloaded 'Sitting on the Moon' I will probably buy the whole album later on.
Also Kaskade's new release Love Mysterious is excellent! . I like 'All You' and 'Stars Align'. Also '4 AM" and 'Be Still'
This San Francisco based producer/DJ is prolific this year. And boy is he brilliant! He is also uber hot.
