 turkish artists
As I m new on the forum and too lazy to read all the posts I dont know if someone already posted about those bands.
Here is a list of turkish bands I think a music lover should know:
- Baba Zula (especialy the album "Duble Oryantal" is a good mix between oriental music and dub reggae)
- Aziza A very good lounge-electronica artist.
- Kolera if you like rap.
- Duman Replikas DirecT and Dandadadan for rock lovers...
- Most of the artists on the east2west compilations.
I d like your oppinion if you know this bands and if you can advise me something I could have missed I d be happy to discover something new!!

You forgot to mention Pentagram, the pioneers of Turkish metal. Saw them in concert 5 weeks ago and they were really good, see them again tomorrow at RockNCoke (well, today as I see it is past midnight... time flies)
Also, I guess you are morally obliged to mention Tarkan.
Asli is quite good as well and quite nice eye candy.

I was sick of Tarkan long before moving to Istanbul as his ""kiss song"" (don t remember the turkish name and I don t care) was on the air for 10 or 12 months in France a few years ago....

and non-straight teenage boys. Remember that tarkan came out of the closet and drives on both sides of the road, if you know what I mean The song is called "Simarik" in Turkish by the way.

I enjoyed it anyway and would recommend seeing a concert of them.
