We can definately achieve 50 pages on this thread by August.
On Friday night, I understood Franz Ferdinand. Always thought they were slightly over-hyped and slightly-pretentious (why the stripey jumpers lads?), but on Friday night in Indigo the DJ dropped Take me out and the crowd went mental. Whatever makes a random crowd go wild is still the litmuss test of a good tune. So Franz, I apologise: please forgive me.
Take me out plus a cheeky jazz version of Radiohead's high and dry are the tunes of this weekend.

My latest discovery - bit of nutty folk for you
Devendra Banhart
Legless love and spider love
Webless love and fragrant mud
Caked in birds, cased in words
I buried your hair in a bed of swords
I buried your legs in a knife less snake

There's an 80s song I dug up recently. My older brother used to play it a lot when he was sad about his girl. It had a peculiar drum beat in the background that I used to call it the "raindance" whenever my he played it.
It's called MORE TO LOSE and I forgot which Brit band sang it.
A good song I like now is called "Sugar We're Going Down" by FAll Out Boys

from MORE TO LOSE:
We used to cry
about the dayswhen one of us might fall
weakened blindly into another's arms
Demands are gained from jealousies
would flow like water drowning us
but leaving us with just another lover's false alarm
And now it's over
both of us free
but I feel colder
A thousand tortured lies have fallen
wounded, dying, cut down by the
questions that we've sharpened
just to save our losing days
We thought we've nothing more to lose
we turned our hearts with jagged truths
and everything that we've hung to for so long just slipped away
REFRAIN
I was tired of thinking that our love
could shine your thoughts of our arrangement
they're really not that mine
I thought it over
and it was plain to see
the love you said you once needed
could just not come from me.
REFRAIN
And now we're moving to new beginnings
but as we move we look once behind
to see what me might find out
lost loves and our thought of our nights of winnings
...(I don't have the last line and I can't fully understand the singer's sung verse)
now it's raining in San Francisco!!! Really and honestly. I told you this is the raindance song!
Have a good weekend you guys...
