I love Tarkan esp. Bu Gece and the acoustic versions of Kuzu Kuzu and Gulumse Kaderine. His songs were played at Barrio Latino in Paris when I was there a couple of years ago.
Good pop rock song I heard today via Alice Radio 97.3 FM (San Francisco) or Aliceradio.com is The Killer's Mr. Brightside. Woke me up for sure.

guess the song: you let me violate you. you let me desecrate you you let me penetrate you. you let me complicate you help me i broke apart my insides. help me i've got no soul to sell help me the only thing that works for me. help me get away from myself i want to fcuk you like an animal i want to feel you from the inside i want to fcuk you like an animal my whole existence is flawed you get me closer to god you can have my isolation. you can have the hate that it brings you can have my absence of faith. you can have my everything help me tear down my reason. help me it's your sex i can smell help me you make me perfect. help me become somebody else i want to fcuk you like an animal i want to feel you from the inside i want to fcuk you like an animal my whole existence is flawed you get me closer to god through every forest, above the trees within my stomach. scraped off my knees i drink the honey inside your hive you are the reason i stay alive
that's right: nine inch nails - closer

Ah yes, Motorcycle aka Gabriel and Dresden's As the Rush Comes. Good song Charly. I went nuts last summer when DJ Armin Van Buuren played it at Buz Ada. Everybody went wild. He has his own remix and so does Satoshi Tomiee. I like the chillout version too.
For my mood now, Collide by Howie Day is perfecto.

Oh thats a classic however its only good if you're madly in love with someone and share a mutual loving relationship but if you're bitter and cant stand the thought of another relationship in your life ever again (like me) then it 's pretty much turn that fcuking music off

The beta band are doing it for me at the moment.
I've also just been given a tape of "Arabic Music" (the rather debonnair Araby Al-Sagheer) by an Egyptian Taxi driver. All loudspeaker repeated lyrics and cheeky breakbeat interludes. Nice.
