American Girl in Istanbul-4 days and counting
Hello all, just writing to give a few details about myself. I've been teaching middle school in the US and China for the past 6 years but now I'm moving to Istanbul to teach adults English, a total first for me. I am a complete social butterfly and like to go out with friends so if anyone has tips about the town or just wants to hang out, it would be cool to find a new pub buddy. Thanks!

welcome glkray, you've found the right place, there're lots of different species hanging around in this forum, elephants, mosquitos, social frogs et al.

I agree with Utube, there are lots of things to do.....drinking would appear to be the favourite.
Welcome, in 4 days that is.

Hope to meet you soon - for a drink probably!

 Response to All Thy Questions
Ok! It wont let me do private messages yet since I am a newbie, but to answer your questions, I will be working for Berlitz in Beyoglu, I think on Istiklal. I was teaching kids in Shanghai the past couple years so fingers crossed, I do well with people my age or older. I am originally from Indiana but I was living out in Long Beach, CA, for a few years before the China move. Aaannd...I TOtally want to go for that drink that has been promised by some of you so post-jet lag, it's on!! Right now I'm in New Jersey, near NYC, just came from Indiana, and before that I was in Borneo, so I am totally fried from bouncing about like a pingpong ball. Heehe
