Post Apparently I missed this step...
So, I guess this works like a conversation, in that introductions generally come at the beginning. Pardon my not reading the directions, that's been an ongoing problem since grade-school.

Name's Sean, American, from the Midwest, 25 years old/young, male, WASP. I've lived in Istanbul for two years.

I was, until recently, here on a Fulbright research grant, which payed for my food and beer. Now, I'm scrambling to find work and still coordinate the various projects that I became involved with while on the grant. Among them is an Ultimate frisbee team.

I'm an aquarius...?

How do ya'll do this? I really don't spend much time around computers or on the internet unless I have to. It's a fancy tool, and I appreciate it for that, but I still don't think of this machine as quite the living thing it's become, I suppose. In any event, I think I've covered the basics. Apologies for forgetting to do this first. My number on the team is 301... a Turkish legal code reference that may offer some insight into my personality.

I should mention, regarding the Ultimate team, that our website is presently closed. Turk Telecom, operating on instructions from the Ministry of the Interior or Inferior, has closed it (though we really aren't sure why). In any case, http://www.turkkasi.org is a project in waiting now. For information on the Ultimate scene in Istanbul, check out http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/ul ... _istanbul/

Right, anything else can probably be answered over a beer, so I'll leave it for that.

Hey Sean. Nice to see you here. Welcome to the forum.
Yeah, the Turkish Ministry is a little bit weird with the internet. First they blocked youtube earlier this year and now they shut down wordpress.com for this interesting fellow Adnan Oktar. Blocked all of the blogs I created for my students last year!!! What kind of logic is that? Maybe this post will get the eit forum blocked by the ministry! btw, I know an American girl looking to hire someone to interview students who want to go to camps in the US if you're interested. You have my e-mail. Hopefully see you at ultimate sometime soon . . . :)
