Post Easily Confused!
I've been lurking here and on MyMerhaba for some time and thought I'd done the introductions... Anyway, I'm a mid-30 year old Brit, married to a Turkish lady for the past 5 years and have been living near London. I run a marketing consultancy whilst my wife is a cosmetologist. Time has come for us to move to Istanbul where my wife will be helping with her dad's company and it looks like I'll be doing a bit of too-ing and fro-ing for the imminent (but short term) future.
The plan is to move to Ortakoy in Jan 08, so am currently in major planning mode - starting the "commute" from August.

I speak a little Turkish having taken various lessons over the years, but without the practise you'd expect living with a Turk, its very rusty. Getting to grips with the lingo is a real priority for me!

Any advice, contacts, friends, social occassions etc. always welcome!

Ellis

Hi L , a good way to learn is to immerse yourself in the language, you live in london, get yourself over to Stoke Newington into a Mehane for some practice.
