Post Exciting adventure or not?!
Hello.

I retired early 2 years ago and moved to Northern Cyprus (Turkey) from the UK.
Came out of retirement a couple of times and worked for a Tour Operator, now with a Property Developer.

I like the Fethiye area very much but am now considering further East around Antalya as the weather seems warmer. I've been used to hot weather in Cyprus and need to guarantee the sun!

Hoping to discover recommendations on this forum of which resorts to consider buying a place.

Tony.

Welcome to the forum.

For me the choice between Turkey and UK is easy. However, I was borned and raised in a tiny Swedish city and since then I have always felt the bigger warmer motropolitan and the better, so what place is better then Istanbul?

The area around Antalya is great I think even if Antalya in itself is boring. I just love walking on old roman roads and visiting exciting historic sites with some water bottels in 35+ heat. I guess Olympos and Thermessos are my favorites.

Ugg, I just realized that I have not had proper vacation in 2 years. :(

Anyway, I hope you find a good place to settle and welcome!

It is an interesting question... which resort to retire to. I think I'd go for one of the quieter places... Datca maybe...
Anyway, welcome to the forum Tony, you are perhaps the first person to openly state your sexuality in an intro (not counting some of the weird blokes coming here looking for foreign brides).

Istanbul must be the most interesting place in Turkey in general, but in terms of the sun, its not so good.

I would not want to have to make the decision you're faced with: terminate a 20+ y relationship or move back to good cold England.

Please dont tell everyone or it will turn into a bucket and spade brigade ghetto.

Welcome by the way and Oz Kanka is dead on with the choice of quiet place to retire but the only problem is that CH lives there and Maymun and I along with silly paul are down there often causing trouble.
