 Hi From Mersin
Been here nearly a year now and only just got around to posting on here! Hoping to watch some rugby, but it seems that the chances are slim without downloading dodgy internet sites over hotbird, or something far too clever for me to consider!

Welcome. What u doing in Mersin? Have never been there myself, my knowledge of it is from less than flattering comments from an ex who was brought up there, she said it was lots of concrete and dullness.

Quiz of the day: Name a Turkish city that is not lots of concrete and dullness!
Anyway: Welcome Richard! It must have been love (of who or whatever) that brought you to Mersin.

 Richard in Mersin
hi Utabe, Dom, & Geordie Dave,
No it was not love, twenty years younger and it may have been...lol!
I work for a Danish company, and run the office from Turkey looking over a small part of the Middle East. It is convenient here for us because of the Free Port, the shipping, and our suppliers.
I do like Mersin though, live in a flat overlooking the sea, and no concrete in sight from my windows!
Food, people, (genrally) and the area is great.
Thanks for replying
Richard

Hi Richard and welcome,
I'm from Mersin myself. It's not concrete at all, but it used to have more green i should admit..
but it's still got the blue

Hi Batgirl
I live in the West of the town, and on the seafront, so of course I do not see any concrete...lol!
I suspect that Ishould have been able to look ata profile or something before asking daft wuestions, but do you work here?
That will do for now!
Richard

Mersin. Went there once, it was a zillion degrees and humidity was around 110% so welcome to the 'coolest' forum around sorry - I'm really not feeling right today

Welcome to the forum Richard. Hope you enjoy Mersin and all
its splendours! It's south isn't it? Is there any social life down there
when all you expats can get together? We could have an excursion from
Istanbul?! (I'm still trying to find somewhere to go for bayram ...)

Thanks all, it is fairly quiet here, but I spend a bit of time each month travelling. It is in the South, and warm and sunny too!
I will be in Istanbul for Bayram! Ironic really!
You are more than welcome to come to Mersin! Plenty of bars and clubs, better in the summer, but still reat to et out in the hills inteh winter.
