Post Greetings from Chicago!
Hello everyone. My name is Roshan and I'm here in Istanbul working for the next several months. I'm originally from Chicago and just arrived this week. I'm having a great time so far and am looking forward to meeting most of you.

Welcome Roshbat!
I grew up in Chicago and visit every time I go back to the states. Join up with TChatty the next time she tours Sultanahmet and when you get tired tof hearing about Istnabul, we all can talk about the Windy City.

Thank you all for your replies.

teacherchick - I live in the western suburbs (Lombard, Villa Park, Oakbrook area). However, I also own property (and occasionally stay) in Wrigleyville by Wrigley Field.

TChatty - I will be doing some computer application implementation work here for a financial services company. Sounds boring but it is very exciting...trust me ;-) Also, please let me know when you next plan on visiting Sultanahment.

verjen - Thanks. Where did you grow up? The city itself or in the burbs? I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago.

fasteddie - Based upon the partying last night, I will have to pace myself.

SteveDews - Thanks buddy.

Cheers,
Roshan

Roshbhat,

Welcome. I'm a suburbanite myself. The Schaumburg area. Enjoy your time away and take it easy on your liver, if at all possible.

Just in case you haven't heard yet. Mark Prior is officially a free agent as of today. Go cubs.

I don't understand this. If Chicago is such a great place, why are guys here and not there. Anyway, welcome Roshan.

Chicago is a great place to visit, to meet old friends (and I mean old), to eat. But I wouldn't ever live there again.
Istanbul is home.

Chicago is a great place - I would guess an important reason to leave might be the weather - its soooo cold in the Winter. I remember walking up Michigan Avenue on St Patrick's Day 2005 and having to run across roads as the wind coming off Lake Michigan was so cold.
