The American consulate usually has a tax advisor lurking in the background. If you move here, register with the consult as soon as possible. I pay my US taxes by going back every March (leaving in thre weeks) and talking with my accountant (also get to visit my grandkids). If you know an accountant, check with him/her first. Figuring it out after the move is more complex and time consuming This will be my first year with Turkish taxes, so I am still unsure about the deal here.

If you want adventure -- Istanbul can provide it if you don't mind a bit of craziness. And the craziness makes great stories to write home.
