Post Hello Hello!
Hi, I'm new here in Istanbul. I'm an Australian Turk and 26 year old girl. I've been here for about 2 weeks and it's been great as I've met a lot of genuinely nice people! Have been offered many English teaching positions but am looking for something else (see how I go!).

Have already been to Reina (excuse the spelling, I never really looked at how it was spellt!) I have never been to such an amazing place before in my life!! Hopefully, I can try out the other famous outings pretty soonish..

Hope to make more of a social circle for myself before I get homesick!! Cheers everyone!

P.s Sorry about the exclamation overdose! (there I go again)

Hel!lo Destin!y,

Welcome to EiT, you'll find lots of Reina type people here, everyone absolutely loves to go there and mix with the social elite. I'm a social elite myself and adore spending 50YTL on a glass of water....it's just so special!!!!!!!!!!!!........!!!!

There are a few Australians on the forum, most only petty criminals so they're quite safe.

! enjoy.

Hi Destiny,

Welcome to the forum. Maybe you can answer this question for me: Was Beyoncee your child, or is her career the child, and she simply handmaiden to you? If you are not that Destiny and are thus unable to answer the question, I will understand.

In the meantime, welcome to Istanbul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Destiny. You have spellllt it very well. Istanbul is full of genuinely nice people. If they drive you mad, just remember, they are genuinely nice in their hearts. Why did you come (back) to Turkey?

Hi Destiny, and welcome.

I am glad the forum has found it's destiny now. (Or was it the other way round)? Was about time.

So you figured that most people here are probably not part of the regular Reina crowd. But they are nice nevertheless; well, may be not genuinely, but nice.

Have a good time here and sure see you around.

Welcome. Oh yes Reina, such a hard choice, 20YTL for a beer in Reina and the bonus of talking to an dumb fake tanned fake blonded girl with more money than brains and a modicum of fame or a relaxed chat over a 4YTL beer with artists, writers and a spattering of weirdos in Beyoğlu. It is such a tough choice!

Enjoy Istanbul.

haha....I'm overwhelmed by all the (funny) comments!

Utabe - I'm Australian myself, so I haven't really 'come back'. I was born and raised in Melbourne, but have always watched İstanbul via Turkish TV my parents use to watch. So, this is my first visit to İstanbul. I had travelled a few years back in Turkey, but to all the other places like Cappa, Pammu and etc.

Dekolte - what's AISF? Apologies if it's blatently obvious (I just don't know!)

Delridge - very funny!

Yeh that Reina place is a tad bit on the expensive side...so maybe it's a special occasion thing.. :)

Post G'day!
Hey Destiny,

Welcome welcome!
I'm new here too! So still looking around for lots of nice outdoor venues for dinner/drinks.
We went to this place called "Re-roof" last weekend and really enjoyed it. (I think it's by the Revan group or something)

It was quiet (maybe cos everyone's out of town!) but really breezey and it's on the rooftop terrace, with big cushions scattered in one seating area.

C u around! :)

Hello and welcome,

actually I am jealous because I am since almost 2 years in Istanbul and couldn´t manage to go to Reina.
My turkish friends told me not go there, maybe I have the wrong friends...

Enjoy that wonderful city, did I miss it? Where do you live?

Cheers Simone
